After I concluded a presentation on maintaining client confidence at the Residential Design Show in Boston earlier this year, an architect asked, "the way you run your house painting business must make you more expensive than your competition - are you willing to sacrifice Boston market share to maintain your standards?"
A good question and an easy one to answer - "yes". Consider - drug testing, comprehensive background checks, uniforms, safety meetings, training, compliance with OSHA and DOL regulations ad nauseam, the overhead associated with proactive and professional back office support and superlative customer service - which one should we sacrifice on the altar of competition?
We say none.
What say you?
