Each time we are involved in repainting surfaces, we are privy to our own version of CSI:Boston.

Exteriors pose their own unique set of issues, often related to weather/exposure, but most often related to poor practice. Culpability falls to our own trade but also to that of carpentry. A typical failure relates to moisture uptake through unsealed endgrain; a piece of cut trim or siding becomes a veritable sponge and the expansion of wood causes premature failure of the paint film and finally the section of trim or siding itself. In this case the best paint job in the world won't help, but a little proactivity on the part of the carpenter will.

The sticklers at Byggmeister, Inc take these issues seriously and their carpenters consistently add this small but critical step to their craft, thereby delivering invisible but outstanding value to their clients.
