(Feel free to ignore the first paragraph or so if you're not much of a basketball fan.  I will tap you on the shoulder when we reconvene the whole class.)

Thanks to two dear friends, my wife and I caught the Celtics-Pistons game last night from a pair of fantastic seats not too high above courtside.  The game was marvelous, a pitched, chippy battle between the Eastern's Conference's top two teams, but it was less the contest than the experience itself which resonated long after the final whistle: after three hours among the loud, proud Garden faithful, I felt like I'd gone a few rounds with a particularly diabolical personal trainer.  I was spent, but it hurt so good.

And they had us at hello--about ten minutes prior to tipoff, the lights dimmed and we were treated to a brief, evocative primer on the Celtics-Pistons rivalry.  Clips from 1987 bled into a more recent vintage, with a gathering intensity that had me feeling positively feral by tipoff, anxious for the Motor City heads to start rolling.

(Thank you for indulging my fever dreams of Sportswriting 101.  You're safe to rejoin the group now.)

How effective that pregame ramble down memory lane, and how important to contextualizing and enriching the evening's experience!  Similarly, we at Catchlight seek to exhilarate by working closely with you to re-imagine your home through a careful attention to its history.  Your exterior paint wear and tear may be the product of several New England winters or an attempt at winterizing; your kitchen's faded red may whisper of Sunday spaghetti dinners from years gone by--whatever your home's history, its future is our shared responsibility, and we encourage you to be as detailed, sentimental, pragmatic, expansive, or matter-of-fact in discussing where your home has been and where you'd like it to be at the conclusion of your project.

Our craftsmanship is of our own development and nurture, at considerable pride, but your home remains our deepest and most abiding investment.  We welcome your dreams and your history.
