Even as I will readily, happily admit that Philosophy 101 was more muddle than beacon to my undergraduate sensibilities, I have made cursory attempts to revisit those great, weighty books in the intervening years, with varying degrees of success. Picture Sisyphus in a swirling rainstorm and you're on the right track.

In any case, among his species (Colossus Germanus Genius?), Kant was always singularly difficult for me: dense, driving, allusive.  Small wonder, then, that during each rereading I am always quickest to seize upon one of the very few Kantian concepts I sorta kinda get: the Sublime, or that which inspires awe in the beholder.
